Jaume Vilaseca Trio dresses jazz to the symphonic rock of the 70s once again. This time the chosen band is Camel and the flute takes the leading role.
To the experience and solidity of the Barcelona trio led by pianist Jaume Vilaseca, joins the brilliant sound of Maria Gil's flute, which rediscovers with rigor and admiration the magic of the melodies, while taking us through more experimental and daring soundscapes.
The repertoire is basically dedicated to the work where the flute shines the most, from the British band Camel (Mirage, The Snow Goose, Moonmadness...).
The strength and complicity of the trio, with Vilaseca on piano, keyboards, Minimoog... Dick Them on electric bass and Ramón Díaz on drums, will reinterpret the songs and create sound spaces closer to jazz.
Jaume Vilaseca has dedicated an important part of his career to reinvent with pure jazz language iconic themes of bands like Genesis (Jazznesis 2008, Jazznesis ll 2015,Jazznesis lll 2019), ELP (TARKOLOGY), APP (Jazz & Parsons Project2022) and Yes (FOUR SUITES 2023).
The journey through Camel promises to bring us back a repertoire that should always be remembered for its quality and beauty, while interpreting it with a new attitude and contemporary sensibility.
